Folk Music Lesson & Session - Oct. 21st - Williams Hall - 7pm to 10pm

Updated: Oct 15, 2021

Welcome!

Join us for our next " 'round the circle" folk music session on Thursday Oct. 21st at Williams Hall. Rachel and Jeff will be hosting the session and will be there to guide participants through the songs and tunes. Our evening will start with the "Song Exchange" hour where all can learn new tunes and songs. After a quick break, we'll continue with a slow jam hour, then finish with an up-to-speed hour.

Song Exchange Hour

This session will feature four well known Irish and old-time fiddle tunes that are easy to learn and fun to play. First, we will learn a set of jigs, The Blarney Pilgrim and Out on the Ocean. (Click here to see a video of Rachel and Jeff playing these jigs.)

We will follow the Irish jig set with two easy old-time fiddle favorites, Spotted Pony and Flop-eared Mule. Click for video lessons from our friend Baron Collins-Hill for Spotted Pony and for Flop-eared Mule. His video lessons are the best we've seen on YouTube!

You'll find more information about participating in the 'round the circle sessions on the Events / Open Sessions page.

We'll look forward to seeing you there!
